Create smooth polynomial shape segments in 2D and 3D space

Used In:

  • Connecting between segments in the Cartesian space

The G-MAS supports connecting between two segments in the Cartesian space using polynomial segments to ensure smooth transitions in all kinematic parameters:

  • Position
  • Velocity
  • AC/DC

The polynomial motion segment is implemented in a function block (FB). The G-MAS profiler builds a motion profile that is defined by these three crossing points:

  • Start Point
  • Auxiliary point
  • End point

When you insert a polynomial motion FB between two other segments, the profiler will build the motion profile to achieve the promised smoothness through the entire segment.

The high-level of smoothness is reached by using higher order polynomials.
